Great News yesterday - I got a called from a lady named Lucy from the Take It Away Arts Scheme. Basically they have approved us to join their scheme starting in July where we can offer great interest free credit finance options on cheaper instruments like guitars!
As you may or not know, we already offer finance options on pianos through the Musical Instrument Finance Company (MIFCO) but could notoffer it on smaller goods… That has now changed!
We can offer Interest Free Credit on goods between £100 and £2000 providing you are over 18 and comply to all the necessary checks etc. I am off to Brighton on Tuesday to get more clued up (brainwashed!) on the whole scheme so hopefully I can tell you a bit more about that then.
Off to see Mike and Rachel tonight at the White Horse in Maidenhead, a local duo playing a wide selection of covers. Maybe I can pick up some tips for my duo gig next Friday in Cookham!

I thought I’d get things underway and introduce myself, that way when you pop into the store you will already have an understanding of who I am!
My name is Steven and I am the General Manager of Sheargold Pianos. My basic job role is to keep up the general running of our 2 stores. I have to take the hundreds of advertising phone calls every day offering all those late spaces for what they think is such a good deal! My time is split between the 2 shops; being at our Cobham store on Tuesdays and Fridays, and our Maidenhead store (which is where I live) on Wednesdays, Thursdays, and Saturdays.
I started off as a Sales Assistant in the Maidenhead store 3 years ago and worked my way up from there. Music has always been part of my life, starting learning the piano at the age of 7. I also play clarinet, saxophone, drums, and guitar. I was in all the bands at school; the concert band, the jazz orchestra and even the choir! I also have a home studio set up where I record bands and artists for fun (more on that in later posts!). As you can see, music is very much what I’m all about, so when I saw the opportunity to work in a musical environment, I snapped it up!
I am always looking for new adventures to do with music, always starting up bands and playing for this and that! I’ve just formed a covers band covering all music from the 60’s onwards and should hopefully be a real big hit. I will have a separate post for this.
Well, that’s it for now.

So, here we are! We have a brand new section of our website called a ‘blog’! There are many people who do know what this is, but for those of you who don’t…
The Wikipedia Definition: “Blogs provide commentary or news on a particular subject such as food, politics, or local news; some function as more personal online diaries. A typical blog combines text, images, and links to other blogs, web pages, and other media related to its topic. The ability for readers to leave comments in an interactive format is an important part of many blogs. Most blogs are primarily textual, although some focus on photographs”
Basically we will tell you a bit about us as a company, ourselves as individuals, and discuss all things musical! From the latest pop number one, to little Johnny’s first gig next week! We can also let you in on all the inside information on new products and goings on with big manufacturers!
The other cool thing about the blog is that you can add comments and join in the discussion!
Watch this space…
