Travis McCoy of New York band Gym Class Heroes has been released on bail after assaulting a verbally abusive member of the audience. On Tuesday 1st July during a Warped Tour show in St Louis, a crowd member shouted racist insults at the frontman, who proceeded to retalliate by inviting the man onstage, where a minor scuffle broke out ending in McCoy smashing his microphone over the man’s head.
Travis apologised immediately to the crowd, but justified his reaction by saying “I’m sorry, but when someone calls you something that ignorant and offensive, you have to bash their head in with a microphone.’.

In other news, Jay-Z has told MTV he would love to play Glastonbury again. According to the man himself, festival punters and gig reviewers, his set was amazing and went down a storm. It’s the first time a hip-hop act has headlined a Glastonbury weekend, and I’m sure it won’t be the last. Kanye next year?
